In June of 2015, I lost my very best friend – Potter – to an aggressive, heart-based cancer (likely hemangiosarcoma). My world turned completely upside down within a matter of two weeks. Imagine being a veterinarian and not being able to take care of your own dog. It was an extremely heartbreaking and humbling experience, and it has been an extremely long road back to some semblance of normalcy. I found a small measure of solace in learning about the National Canine Cancer Foundation (NCCF) and its followers. I decided to create “Paws4Potter” – a small organization – in order to provide a way to bring awareness about canine cancer to our community and to provide donations to the National Canine Cancer Foundation.
